About Our Piano Tuning Specialist

We bring European craftsmanship and uncompromising quality to piano servicing.

Whether your piano is a new purchase or a family heirloom, you deserve to find joy and pleasure at the touch of the keys.   As a piano tuner/technician, I want to enhance your artistry by keeping your instrument in its best playing condition.

It is especially important for young students to have a well-tuned and maintained piano because they are developing their ear training.  And oftentimes, children lose interest when the piano is not in good condition.  Sticking keys can be very discouraging to the learning pianist.

I am a professional piano technician.
I  learned my trade as a piano technician from a Master Technician with nearly 50 years of experience.  My training included aural tuning, machine tuning, pitch correction, restoration, regulation, and a complete understanding of the workings of the piano.

I am an Associate Member of the Piano Technicians Guild.  Why is this important?

The Guild is the largest professional organization for Piano Technicians/Tuners.  It sets high standards for workmanship and business ethics.

Additionally, members continue to upgrade their skills, industry knowledge, and techniques through the many meetings, seminars, and conventions.

Languages Spoken:

In this global economy, it may be helpful to you that I speak fluent English, German and Dutch, of course.

I am a classically trained musician.
I have  performed throughout Europe and I was the concertmaster of a symphonic concert band for 10 years in The Netherlands.  I also performed and taught in the larger Detroit metropolitan region.

Why do I emphasize my musical experience?  Simply because I identify with the pianist.  I can appreciate the importance of a well maintained instrument, which enables the artist to focus on their musical expression and interpretation.

On a personal note:
I proudly became an American Citizen in January, 2007, having lived in the United States for 5 years.  I am also proud of my Dutch heritage.  Dutch workmanship is known throughout the world for quality, precision and attention to detail.  My family has a history of quality workmanship in fine woodworking.

My wife and I live in Sharpsburg along with our six pampered rescued pets, Marco Polo, Zesty Ernest Hemmingway, Zoe, Buster Louis Bubba, Katje, and Beau Chat.
